Program Notes From the composer Peter Jarvis:
Metallic Music is dedicated to Dominic Donato. I completed the serenade in November of 2005 after Dominic’s ongoing Music for Tamtams project triggered in me, a renewed fondness for the instruments. While approaching the piece primarily concerned with melody, I found the inherent wide dynamic range of the instruments irresistible.
Metallic Music has been recorded by Dominic Donato for his CD Metamorphosis. Capstone Records: CPS-8796.
